Mackenzie Phillips: I Was Raped by Papa John

Mackenzie Phillips: I Was Raped by Papa John

Now this is a horrifying revelation.
Mackenzie Phillips, the trouble-plagued eldest daughter of the late Mamas & the Papas frontman John Phillips, says in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, airing tomorrow, that she was a victim of rape at the hands of her famous father.
Phillips says in her new memoir, High on Arrival (which she discussed with the daytime queen), that she confronted John, who died in March 2001, about their sordid past, saying, "We have to talk about when you raped me."
To which John replied, according to his daughter, "You mean when we made love?"
Ugh.
"Interviewed One Day at a Time's Mackenzie Phillips," Winfrey wrote on Twitter this afternoon. Thought I'd heard it all…beyond shocking! We're airing it Wednesday."
Phillips, 49, is John's daughter with his first wife, Susan Adams. Bijou and Chynna Phillips, who also have different moms, are her half-sisters.
The rock 'n' roll progeny has battled drug addiction and has been in trouble with the law off and on since she was a teenager, problems that derailed her promising acting career. Most recently, she was arrested for cocaine possession at Los Angeles International Airport last summer.
She also talks in her book about her father supplying her with drugs when she was a kid, an unsavory habit that ultimately led to the biggest parent-child betrayal of all.
"On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it," Phillips wrote. "I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad's bed.
"My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father."
Phillips was 19 at the time.
"I was a fragment of a person, and my secret isolated me," she wrote.

Jaclyn Smith was hospitalized for a bullet wound

Reports say Charlie's Angels star Jaclyn Smith was hospitalized for a bullet wound, in an apparent suicide attempt in Honduras.
Reports say the actress was been hospitalized in San Pedro Sula, after being transferred from the island of Roatan in the Caribbean.
But according to Smith's own Twitter page, the actress is at home, safe and sound.
What REALLY seems to have happened is no less tragic ... Smith's stunt double in the Angels series, Sandra Franklin, is the one who was injured. All of the details seem to apply to her and are, apparently, true.

The Storms Have Killed at Least Six People in Georgia, Which Has Been Particularly Hard Hit

The rain seems never ending for the waterlogged residents in the South, where torrential downpours the last several days have trapped some people in their homes and killed others.

"This is absolutely ridiculous," one Georgia woman exclaimed as she maneuvered her car through the high waters. "I have never seen anything like this in Atlanta before."
Just months ago the region suffered from a massive, two-year drought that left rivers and lakes more than a dozen feet below average. Now some locations have seen as much as 21 inches of rain from storms stretching from Tennessee to Georgia to North Carolina

Country club files for bankruptcy, cancels upcoming weddings

GEORGETOWN, Mass. -- Just five days from her big day, one bride has learned her dream wedding will not happen the way she planned.
And she is not alone.
The Georgetown Country Club where the bride planned to celebrate her wedding is reportedly shutting its doors, after filing for bankruptcy.
Several brides got a call to inform them that their receptions would be cancelled.
Bride-to-be Sarah Crow whose wedding was scheduled for Saturday is now trying to pull together a backyard wedding.
"With Georgetown, the fact that they are keeping my hard-earned, blood, sweat, and tears money, that's what hurts," Crow said.
Crow is out close to $10,000.
The general manager of the country club had no comment, but the executive banquet chef did say that staffers are working with brides affected.
"We will work with them to make their wedding as successful as it would have been here at the Georgetown," said Morry Korinow, the executive banquet chef.
However, one couple said they have not received any offers for help or any answers.
Christina Doherty and her fiancé have no idea where their October 3 wedding will be.
"I thought everything was start to finish set for Georgetown; it was one thing I didn't worry about," Doherty said.
The Georgetown Country Club filed for bankruptcy on September 11 and many brides are outraged because they made payments after that date.
The doors of the country club closed Tuesday night indefinitely

Putnam County

Day and Nighttime Lane Closures Scheduled to Begin on U.S. 17 in Southern Putnam County – Day and nighttime lane closures are scheduledon U.S. 17 in Palatka as crews prepare to start paving between C.R. 309 in Satsuma to Currie Road in San Mateo, a total distance of nearly six miles. Paving, which was originally scheduled to begin August 31, has been rescheduled to begin the week of September 21. The contractor has been completing drainage work and has begun work on side street entrances while maintenance is being performed on the asphalt plant that will be used for paving. Work requiring lane closures of less than 1,000 feet, like guardrail modification at the Dunn’s Creek Bridge and adjustments to the pavement at the curves, may be done during the day between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Pavement adjustments will require adding asphalt on five curves and removing asphalt on one curve to improve drainage and traction prior to paving. This may appear like a patchwork of pavement as workers move from curve to curve removing or adding asphalt in order to change the slope of the road. Crews will then start removing three inches of the old asphalt throughout the remainder of the project and replacing it with two, 1.5-inch layers of new asphalt on the travel lanes. This work requires lane closures up to one mile in length and will be done at night between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. to lessen the impact to traffic. It is possible that both day and nighttime lane closures will occur on the same day once paving begins next week.
Thefinal layer ofasphalt will then be placed on the travel lanes, 4-foot paved shoulder and eight C.R. entrances where they intersect with U.S. 17 including C.R. 309B, Hoot Owl Road, South Dunn’s Creek Road, North Dunn’s Creek Road, San Mateo Road, Gail Drive, Horse Landing Road and Spring Creek Drive. Entrances to dirt roads will also be paved. Once all of the new asphalt is in place, the contractor will return to add the final pavement markings in 14 days as required by the contract to allow time for the asphalt to “cure.” Anderson Columbia Co. Inc., of Lake City is doing the work at a cost of $2.6 million. Work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
S.R. 20 from Hollister to Interlachen – Three miles of S.R. 20, from Sun Avenue to Rowland Avenue have been opened to two lanes of traffic in each direction. An additional two miles of westbound S.R. 20 has been opened to two lanes of traffic between Hitchcock’s Shopping Center and Sun Avenue. Eastbound traffic is still reduced to one lane from just west of C.R. 315 to Sun Avenue as crews pave the side street entrances along S.R. 20. Westbound traffic is still reduced to one lane from Hitchcock’s Shopping Center to just west of C.R. 315. All four lanes of traffic throughout the entire project are expected to be open by Friday, September 25.
C.R. 315 at the intersection of S.R. 20 in Interlachen – Watch for lane closures on C.R. 315 just north of S.R. 20 on Saturday, September 19, and south of S.R. 20 on Monday, September 21 while crews pave the final layer of asphalt.
U.S. 17 from C.R. 309 in Satsuma to Currie Road in San Mateo – Daytime lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 17 at the Dunn's Creek bridge while crews begin replacing guardrail at the bridge. Nighttime lane closures from 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. are scheduled on U.S. 17 between Satsuma and San Mateo for resurfacing, beginning Tuesday, September 22.

Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage

Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage is the name of a new book which also somehow talks about the controversial Vera Baker effect during Obama electoral campaign. So what’s up with the book? Well apparently this little collection of “solid papers” can be like salt on the wound of a couple – A Presidential Couple.
It is not a secret how many young women and girls adore Obama, well not just as the Politician and President of the USA but also for “other things they wish for”. During Obama electoral campaign itself there were many such incidents where crazy female fans would pushed themselves close against Obama and even slipped their phone numbers into his pocket expecting a one shot stand!
Of course Lady Obama was angry at such situations but what could be done? It was the electoral sacrifices. In the book “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage” the author mention how even Obama would feel irritated by women who would try to touch his a$s while he walked among the public crowd.
The author writes that Obama even allegedly once said:
“Jesus, I wish they’d stop grabbing my ass.”

And Michelle: “”. . . I want to tell these women, ‘Back off. Get a life.’ It’s just embarrassing, that’s all.”

Some time before the campaign ended, Vera Baker disappeared from the electoral scene but was later found at the Caribbean island of Martinique. It is said that the wife of Obama, being jealous of course (which is normal in this case) was behind the move of Vera out of the campaign work.
Apparently Michelle Obama is the person behind Vera moving out of the campaign and even going far from the couple. What did Michelle do? No one knows as even Vera Baker was questioned by a journalist about this sudden disappearance, she said:
Nothing happened . . . I don’t have anything to say.”

Well this is indeed how a Presidential Lady revenge is! Stay away or I’ll get you to go away!

The Ron Silver News

Ron Silver got me drunk when I was 12 years old. My 16 year old sister and I were hanging at his West Hollywood pad with our parents, Jerry and Anne, and Ron’s wife at the time, Lynn. Ron and my mom were both semi-regulars on the sitcom Rhoda. Ron played Gary Levy, Rhoda’s swinging single neighbor, and my mom was Sally Gallagher, her swinging stewardess friend.
Ron knew we were bored and asked if I wanted a little vodka in my Coke. Amy had some too. She also had a huge crush on Ron… because he was cool. We had a great time. Nothing too crazy. I didn’t end up an alky, and things worked out ok… and I always loved Ron for that. He treated us like people, even though we weren’t yet.
Through the years I looked up to him as an actor, his cool Jewish intensity and humor were able to take him from sitcoms to action movie heavies…. and his intelligence and charisma from David Rabe to Aaron Sorkin dialog…and he was so good at all of it.
10 years ago two writers from Milwaukee named Rob Schrab and Dan Harmon wrote a TV pilot called Heat Vision and Jack. It was a Six Million Dollar Man/Knight Rider inspired series about an astronaut played by Jack Black who flew too close to the sun on a mission, so when it was daylight he was the smartest man in the world, and when the sun set he was normal again. Owen Wilson was the voice of his talking motorcycle. And the villain of the piece was Ron Silver as himself — Ron Silver the actor, bad guy from Time Cop, but that was just his cover — in actuality he was the head of NASA, which in this reality was an evil organization trying to take over the world. Weirdly, it didn’t get picked up. But Ron was genius in it, playing it as straight as could be. I hope some people YouTube it, because it showed what a great sense of humor he had. I never got caught up in his politics. I just always loved him as a person and a talent. I know he struggled over the last couple of years, and I can only believe he is in a better place now. He will truly be missed.
